TLDR Autologous PRP injections significantly speed up wound healing.
This study compared the efficacy of conventional wound care with and without autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection in healing superficial wound dehiscence after Pfannenstiel incision surgery. Conducted at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Lahore, it involved women aged 18-49 who were randomized into two groups: one receiving PRP injections alongside conventional care, and the other receiving only conventional care. Results showed that the PRP group experienced significantly faster healing, with an average duration of 15.80 days compared to 20.30 days in the non-PRP group (p=0.000). The study concluded that autologous PRP injections significantly reduce healing time for these wounds.
