TLDR The herbal drug worked faster than Minoxidil for treating telogen effluvium.
This study compared the efficacy of Minoxidil 2% solution and a herbal drug for treating telogen effluvium in a double-blind prospective study involving 24 patients. The herbal drug contained urtica diocia, chamomilla, thymus vulgaris, equisetum avenues, and foeniculum vulgare. Results showed that the mean duration of telogen effluvium was significantly shorter in the herbal drug group (7 weeks) compared to the Minoxidil group (17 weeks). The study concluded that the herbal drug was effective in treating telogen effluvium, though further research was recommended.
