TLDR Shampoo with ginseng helped improve hair thickness, density, growth, and reduced hair loss.
In a clinical trial conducted 10 years ago, the efficacy of a shampoo containing 0.003% Ginseng Radix saponin Rg3 (produced by Somang Co., Korea) in preventing hair loss and promoting hair growth was evaluated. The study involved 42 patients diagnosed with hair loss, who were divided into two groups: one using the ginseng-containing shampoo and the other using the same shampoo without the active ingredient. After 16 weeks of product use, measurements of hair thickness, density, and growth rate were taken. Additionally, the degree of improvement in hair loss was assessed by professional visual evaluation and the subjective satisfaction of the participants.
