Extraction of Follicular Horny Impactions of the Face by Polymers: Efficacy and Safety of a Cosmetic Pore-Cleansing Strip (Bioré)

The study evaluated the efficacy and safety of Bioré Pore Perfect strips for removing horny material from sebaceous follicles on the face, comparing it to the cyanoacrylate follicular biopsy. Bioré strips were found to be particularly effective in removing horny impactions and trichostatic bundles on the nose without causing inflammatory reactions or increased tenderness, even with repeated use. Patient satisfaction was high. Although cyanoacrylate was more effective in extracting horny impactions and vellus hairs, it was also more aggressive. The use of tretinoin cream enhanced the effectiveness of Bioré strips.
