TLDR Taking Kera-Diet® improves hair and nail health without side effects.
In a clinical trial with 60 healthy female participants, the oral supplement Kera-Diet® (KD), a natural keratin hydrolysate, was found to significantly improve hair and nail health over a 90-day period. The KD group showed increases in hair density, the percentage of hair in the anagen phase, and hair and nail brightness, as well as a reduction in hair shedding and an increase in nail growth rate. The improvements were also subjectively confirmed by the participants, with a 75% global satisfaction rate. The study concluded that daily intake of 1000 mg of KD, along with specific vitamins and trace elements, is effective in treating acute telogen effluvium and brittle nail syndrome without adverse effects. The study was funded by BCF Life Sciences, the provider of the test products.
