TLDR Higher temperatures improve rabbit hair strength up to 50°C, but moisture weakens it.
The study investigated the impact of temperature and humidity on the mechanical properties of rabbit hair fibers. It was found that both tensile strain and breaking elongation of rabbit hair fibers increased with higher temperatures up to 50°C, after which the rate of increase slowed down. In contrast, the breaking force and breaking strength decreased in wet conditions due to the reduced physical strength between fiber macromolecules. The study concluded that while higher temperatures generally improved the mechanical properties of rabbit hair fibers, excessive moisture could weaken the fibers and make them more prone to breaking. Additionally, in wet conditions, temperature had little effect on the mechanical properties of the fibers. The experiments were conducted 100 times for each different temperature and humidity condition to ensure reliable results.
