TLDR Porcine acellular dermal matrix helps hair growth by boosting specific proteins and signals.
The study investigated the effects of porcine acellular dermal matrix (ADM) on hair follicle regeneration in 18 C57BL/6 mice with full-thickness skin defects. Results showed that ADM significantly increased the expression of β-catenin, Wnt3a, and SDF-1 compared to gauze, as confirmed by Western blotting and immunohistochemistry. The study concluded that ADM promoted hair follicle regeneration by up-regulating SDF-1 and the Wnt3a/β-catenin signaling pathway, suggesting its potential as a scaffold for hair growth and treating hair loss conditions.
