This study investigated the impact of coconut oil on the physical-mechanical properties and micromolecular structure of human hair. Twelve hair samples, half chemically treated and half untreated, were analyzed for maximum force, breaking force, maximum extension, and cuticle smoothness using tensile strength tests and microscope observations. After treatment with coconut oil, results indicated that chemically treated hair showed cuticle damage, but coconut oil provided some protective benefits.
