TLDR Using 120% sodium citrate in blood gives the best platelet recovery and enrichment.
The study investigated the effect of different doses of sodium citrate as an anticoagulant on platelet recovery and enrichment in platelet-rich plasma using 9 New Zealand rabbits. The results showed that using 120% sodium citrate in conventional blood resulted in the highest platelet recovery rate and enrichment coefficient, indicating effective separation and good biological function. The study also observed changes in platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) and transforming growth factor (TGF-β1) levels, with significant increases before plasma activation and varied effects after activation depending on the concentration of blood and sodium citrate used.
