TLDR Eclipta alba can be used in products to treat hair loss.
The study focused on the characterization of Eclipta alba (L.) to develop a dermocosmetic product for treating alopecia. The research involved physicochemical and phytochemical analyses, revealing that E. alba contained high levels of non-volatile inorganic impurities and had a suitable humidity level and pH for cosmetic formulations. The plant's methanolic extract showed the presence of pharmacologically active constituents, including wedelolactone, a coumarin known to promote hair growth. The study concluded that E. alba could be effectively used in formulations addressing alopecia, meeting the needs of individuals experiencing hair loss.
