TLDR The DWLSM provides detailed imaging of hair shafts and follicles with high accuracy.
The double-wavelength laser scanning microphotometer (DWLSM) was developed to measure the absorbance of hair shafts and follicles in vitro with high spatial resolution. This instrument, based on a standard binocular microscope, allowed for detailed absorbance distribution analysis across and along hair shafts and follicles. Its construction and data processing methods minimized the impact of light scattering on hair and tissue samples.
