TLDR Combination therapy helped patient with advanced Hidradenitis Suppurativa achieve remission.
The article discusses a case report of a patient with advanced Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS) who achieved remission with a multimodal approach that included the use of metformin, liraglutide, dapsone, and finasteride. The approach targeted metabolic and immunohormonal aspects of the disease and resulted in a disease-modifying effect, with resolution of all major concomitant medical abnormalities. The report suggests that combination therapies should be implemented more intensively for HS, especially anticipating the rising global epidemic of obesity and metabolic syndrome.
