    TLDR Proper diagnosis and treatment of hair loss in children are crucial to prevent lasting issues and maintain their quality of life.
    Hair loss in pediatric patients can be caused by various conditions, both congenital and acquired, and can be classified as scarring or non-scarring. Proper diagnosis involves anamnesis, physical examination, and supporting tests such as fungal cultures, hair pull tests, light microscopy, and trichoscopy. Effective management requires identifying the specific cause and providing a holistic approach, including psychosocial support, to prevent a decline in the patient's quality of life.
