TLDR Accurate diagnosis and understanding of alopecia areata in children are crucial for proper treatment.
Alopecia areata (AA) is a chronic autoimmune disease causing non-scarring hair loss, commonly seen in children. This paper reports 5 cases of AA in children under 18 years old, diagnosed through clinical and supporting examinations. Differentiating AA from other similar conditions is crucial for accurate diagnosis, especially in pediatric patients. Understanding the specific characteristics of AA in children is essential for proper diagnosis and management.
