TLDR Eclipta alba shows promise for treating hair loss.
The study focused on developing a dermocosmetic product from the aerial parts of Eclipta alba (L.) for treating alopecia. The researchers conducted physico-chemical and phytochemical characterizations of E. alba, adhering to the Brazilian Pharmacopoeia standards. The methanolic extract was processed through spray drying and incorporated into dermocosmetic formulations. Quality control analyses were performed over 15 days, and wedelolactone, a coumarin known for promoting hair growth, was quantified. The study found that E. alba met the necessary criteria for alopecia treatment, offering a promising solution for those affected by hair loss.
