TLDR Certain skin symptoms can help detect and manage systemic lupus.
This retrospective study analyzed 30 patients with Cutaneous lupus erythematosus to determine the association between skin manifestations and systemic involvement in SLE. The study found that cutaneous manifestations such as malar rash, photosensitivity, noncicatricial alopecia, oral ulcers, and vasculitis were linked to systemic involvement. The findings suggested that these skin manifestations could serve as markers for systemic involvement, aiding in the early detection and management of SLE.
