TLDR Dense-packing hair grafting is a simple, safe, and effective way to restore hair in people with cicatricial alopecia.
The study conducted 21 years ago investigated the use of dense-packing hair grafting technique for the restoration of cicatricial alopecia. The method involved harvesting a scalp strip from the back of the head and creating micro-grafts and mini-grafts, which were then implanted into the scarring recipient area. The technique was applied to 96 patients with 128 bald scarring areas resulting from burns, trauma, or infection. The results showed a graft density of 10-15 mini-grafts/cm2 and 16-19 micro-grafts/cm2 per session. Postoperative follow-ups for more than a year showed a 90%-95% survival rate of the grafted hair. One third of the patients achieved satisfactory results with one session, while two thirds required a second session. The study concluded that the dense-packing hair grafting technique is a simple, safe, and effective method for hair restoration, including for cicatricial alopecia.

The conversation is about hair transplants and the perception that they often look unnatural, especially in the first few rows of hair. There is a debate about whether it's better to choose a cheaper clinic in Turkey or a more expensive one in the USA, with some arguing that experience and skill matter more than cost.
