TLDR The patient characteristics at a private dermatology clinic were similar to those at public or university clinics.
In 2018, a retrospective study was conducted on the demographic and clinical characteristics of 1858 patients, aged 1 to 91 years, who visited a private dermatology clinic in 2017. The patient group was composed of 996 females (53.60%) and 862 males (46.39%), with an average age of 34.99 years. The most common diagnoses were eczemas (37.19%), infectious diseases (21.52%), and acne vulgaris (9.31%). The study concluded that the patient characteristics were similar to those visiting public or university hospital dermatology clinics. The researchers suggested that understanding these epidemiological characteristics could help in planning health expenditures and contribute to public health work.
