TLDR Biopsy is crucial for diagnosing unusual hair loss causes like lymphoma.
A 24-year-old woman presented with frontal alopecia resembling frontal fibrosing alopecia, but was diagnosed with primary cutaneous follicle center lymphoma after a scalp biopsy. The biopsy revealed a nodular lymphocytic infiltrate and B-cell clonality, confirming the lymphoma diagnosis. This case underscores the importance of biopsy in atypical alopecia cases, as it was crucial for identifying the lymphoma with features of frontal fibrosing alopecia.
