TLDR Resistance training improved BMI and menstrual regularity more in women with PCOS than aerobic training.
The study involved 78 women with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) aged 18-40, who were divided into two groups: Group A (39 participants) received aerobic training and lifestyle modification, while Group B (39 participants) underwent resistance training for 8 weeks. The results indicated that both groups experienced similar improvements in PCOS symptoms and quality of life. However, the resistance training group showed a more significant improvement in Body Mass Index (BMI) and menstrual regularity. The study suggests that resistance training, possibly in conjunction with lifestyle changes, may be a more effective method for managing BMI and menstrual regularity in women with PCOS.
