TLDR COVID-19 is linked to temporary hair loss, especially in women.
The study investigated the prevalence of Telogen Effluvium (TE), a temporary hair loss condition, in individuals recovering from COVID-19. Conducted in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, with 150 participants aged 20 or older, the study found that 73.3% of participants reported post-COVID-19 hair loss, with females being significantly more affected. A family history of TE was present in 20% of participants. The findings suggest a significant association between COVID-19 and TE, particularly among females, highlighting the need for further research on long-term outcomes.
