TLDR Corn silk extract helps reduce prostate enlargement symptoms.
In the study titled "Corn silk extract improves benign prostatic hyperplasia in experimental rat model," benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) was induced in rats through testosterone injections. The treatment with corn silk extract was found to improve BPH symptoms by inhibiting the mRNA expression of 5α-reductase type 2 (5α-R2) and reducing the levels of 5α-R2, dihydrotestosterone (DHT), and prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in both serum and prostate tissue.
