TLDR TrichoSolTM is safe for hair loss treatments with specific ingredient stability for up to 180 days.
The study evaluates the compatibility of several active pharmaceutical ingredients—cetirizine hydrochloride, dutasteride, hydrocortisone acetate, nicotinamide, progesterone, and pyridoxine hydrochloride—in TrichoSolTM, a natural vehicle used for hair solutions in treating alopecia. Using HPLC analyses and Antimicrobial Effectiveness Testing, the research determined the physical-chemical and microbiological stabilities of these compounds. The beyond-use dates (BUDs) for these ingredients in TrichoSolTM were established as follows: 180 days for cetirizine hydrochloride (0.5%-2.0%), dutasteride (0.1%), hydrocortisone acetate (0.5%), nicotinamide (0.25%-0.50%), progesterone (1.0%), and pyridoxine hydrochloride (0.25%-5.0%). Shorter BUDs were noted for hydrocortisone acetate (1.0%) at 150 days, dutasteride (0.25%) at 120 days, and progesterone (2.5%) at 90 days. This information is crucial for ensuring the safe and effective use of these compounds in hair loss treatments.
