TLDR Epidermis and dermis cells together can regenerate hair follicles.
The study investigated the co-transplantation of C57-GFP mouse epidermis and dermis cells to induce hair follicle regeneration. The cells were transplanted into Balb/c nude mice and observed over 4-6 weeks. Results showed that co-transplantation (group A) led to new hair follicle formation, indicated by skin color change and complete hair follicle structures. In contrast, groups with only dermis cells (groups B and C) or saline (group D) did not show significant hair follicle formation. The study concluded that the interaction between epidermis and dermis cells was crucial for inducing hair follicle regeneration.
