Clinico-Epidemiological Profile of Dermatology Patients: A One-Year Study at a Newly Established Tertiary Care Centre in India

    TLDR Fungal infections are the most common skin issue in the region.
    The study conducted at AIIMS, Raebareli, over one year, analyzed 4,188 dermatology patients to understand the clinico-epidemiological profile in the region. The results showed that infections, particularly fungal infections, were the most prevalent dermatological conditions across all age groups, with 1,024 out of 1,311 infection cases being fungal. Dermatitis was also a significant concern, especially among adults. The study highlights the need for targeted public health interventions and preventive measures due to the high prevalence of infectious dermatoses, notably in geriatric and pediatric patients.
