Common Clinical Signs and Symptoms Observed in Patients Diagnosed with Thyrotoxicosis in Gujranwala, Pakistan

The study conducted in Gujranwala, Pakistan, assessed the common clinical signs and symptoms of thyrotoxicosis in 120 patients, revealing a higher prevalence in females (78) compared to males (42), predominantly affecting those aged 31-50. Common symptoms included goiter, sweating, heat intolerance, hoarseness, tremors, diarrhea, anxiety, hair loss, menstrual irregularities, exophthalmos, increased appetite, and polyuria. Blood screenings showed significant variations in BMI, free T3, T4, and TSH levels. The study concludes that the high prevalence of thyroid disorders significantly impacts health and quality of life, emphasizing the need for increased awareness and dietary iodine to reduce thyroid dysfunctions in the community.
