TLDR Overt hyperthyroidism is the most common thyroid disorder, especially in women.
The study conducted at People’s University of Medical and Health Sciences for Women in Nawabshah involved 82 patients aged 16-70 years to evaluate the clinical spectrum and demographic profile of thyroid disorders. The findings revealed that overt hyperthyroidism was the most common diagnosis (72.0%), predominantly affecting women, and was characterized by symptoms such as high pulse rate, weight loss, and anxiety. Overt hypothyroidism, subclinical hypothyroidism, and subclinical hyperthyroidism were less common. The study highlights the importance of early clinical identification and biochemical confirmation to manage thyroid disorders effectively and prevent complications.
