TLDR Cactus-enriched hair oil effectively reduces hair fall and promotes hair growth with no major side effects.
In 2018, a study involving 60 alopecia patients aged 18 to 65 years old was conducted to assess the effectiveness of hair oil enriched with Cereus grandiflorus (cactus) flower extract on hair fall disorders. The patients applied about 5 mL of the product on their scalp and hair daily for 12 weeks. The results indicated that the herbal hair oil significantly reduced hair fall, as measured by the Objective Improvement Evaluation Score and the Global Evaluation Score. The study concluded that the hair oil is safe and effective in preventing hair loss and promoting new hair growth with continuous application over 12 weeks. No significant adverse reactions were reported or observed during the study period.
