TLDR Celery extract didn't significantly boost hair growth in the gel.
The study aimed to develop a hair growth gel using celery leaf extract (Apium graveolens L.) with a chitosan-alginate base. The optimal formula included 0.5% celery extract and a 1:1 chitosan to alginate ratio. While the chitosan-alginate base alone showed effectiveness in promoting hair growth, the addition of celery extract did not significantly enhance this effect. The study suggested that the low concentration of celery extract and the diffusion properties of the natural polymers might have limited the gel's effectiveness. Despite this, the chitosan-alginate base and celery extract showed potential compared to the control.
