TLDR A blue Staffordshire Bull Terrier had hair loss due to color dilution alopecia, confirmed by tests, but no treatment was pursued.

A case of color dilution alopecia (CDA) was reported in a blue-coated Staffordshire Bull Terrier in Pernambuco, Brazil. The dog showed hair thinning from six months old, with alopecia on the back and flank. After ruling out other conditions through various tests, a skin biopsy revealed melanin plugs in hair follicles and other histopathological changes indicative of CDA. The diagnosis was confirmed based on these findings, clinical signs, and the dog's history. No therapeutic treatment was pursued, as existing treatments have variable outcomes, and the owner chose not to proceed with them.
