Comparative Analysis of the Use of Complementary and Alternative Medicine by Korean Patients with Androgenetic Alopecia, Atopic Dermatitis, and Psoriasis

    TLDR Many Korean patients with hair loss, skin allergies, and psoriasis use alternative medicine, but satisfaction is low.
    The study analyzed the use of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) by Korean patients with androgenetic alopecia (AGA), atopic dermatitis (AD), and psoriasis. The study found that a significant percentage of patients with these conditions used CAM, with topical applicants and herbal medicine being the most commonly used types. The main reason for seeking CAM was recommendations from family members and friends. However, the study also found that patients were not very satisfied with the use of CAM, and physicians should be aware of CAM to guide patients in accessing the benefits and risks of its use.
