Bubble Hair Deformity Induced by Bathroom Heating Lamp: A Report of Two Cases

Daxing Wu, Lifeng Wu, Jianzhong Xu
TLDR Bathroom heating lamps can damage hair, causing it to become dry, brittle, and broken.
This report describes two cases of bubble hair deformity in young males caused by exposure to bathroom heating lamps. Both patients experienced dry, brittle, and broken hair due to the proximity of their scalps to the heat source during showers. The condition, characterized by kinked and discolored hair with bubble formation, was diagnosed through clinical, dermoscopic, and microscopic examination. No specific treatment was given, but patients were advised to avoid heat exposure, leading to improvement after 3 months. This is the first report linking bathroom heating lamps to bubble hair deformity, highlighting the need for awareness and preventive measures.
