TLDR Blood groups are not linked to hidradenitis suppurativa.
This retrospective study evaluated the relationship between ABO blood groups and hidradenitis suppurativa in 100 patients and 365 healthy controls. The analysis found no significant association between ABO or Rh blood groups and the incidence of the condition, with similar distributions of blood groups in both patients and controls. Blood group A Rh(+) was the most common in both groups. The study concludes that there is no significant link between blood groups and hidradenitis suppurativa, suggesting the need for further research with larger and more diverse populations to explore potential underlying mechanisms.
