TLDR Creating specific biological indicators is important for early detection and treatment of PCOS.
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) affects approximately 6 million women of reproductive age in the United States and 10% of women worldwide, making it the leading cause of female infertility. However, diagnosing PCOS is challenging due to symptom overlap with other conditions. The development of biomarkers for early diagnosis of PCOS is crucial as it allows for more time to treat symptoms and potentially find a cure.
