TLDR Fiber implants effectively treat permanent hair loss with over 85% success and minimal complications.
The study documents the results of fiber implants for the treatment of permanent alopecias, including scalp scars and androgenetic alopecia. The fiber hair restoration method appears to be a suitable method for hair restoration for permanent types of alopecia, with excellent results in more than 85% of patients treated, mild and rare complications, and an average yearly failure rate of less than 20%. The study suggests that artificial hair implantation is a safe hair restoration method if protocols for patient selection, implantation, and follow-up are observed. In some cases, such as total alopecia and patients with a lack of a donor area, artificial hair implant is the only available means of hair replacement.
