TLDR A special gel with medicine helps prevent melanoma from coming back after surgery.
In this study, researchers developed a bioabsorbable nano-micelle hybridized hydrogel scaffold (HGMP) for local chemotherapy after tumor surgery. The scaffold, made from derivatives of gelatin and hyaluronic acid, integrates doxorubicin-loaded nano-micelles (PP/DOX) via a click reaction, allowing for long-term drug release and rapid degradation under enzymatic conditions. This targeted delivery system effectively reduces local toxicity and clears residual tumors, providing a promising approach to prevent postoperative melanoma recurrence. The study demonstrated good tumor-targeted properties both in vitro and in vivo, highlighting the potential of HGMP in enhancing postoperative cancer therapy.
