TLDR More research is needed on natural hair products, especially clinical studies.
This study used text mining and statistical analysis to examine trends in hair-related natural materials, identifying key terms and categories such as hair growth, damage, and dyeing. It found that research on natural substances for hair has steadily increased from 2001 to 2021, indicating growing academic interest and positive perceptions of natural materials. However, the study also noted a disparity in research methods, with fewer clinical and condition studies compared to effect and characteristic studies. The findings highlight the need for more balanced research approaches in the beauty industry.
