TLDR Bergamot and boxthorn extract may improve skin health and promote hair growth in mice.
In a study conducted 20 years ago, the extract from bergamot and boxthorn was found to have a positive effect on skin and hair growth in mice. The mice's skin was treated with the extract for 42 days, after which the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and the content of malondialdehyde (MDA) and collagen were measured. The extract significantly increased the activity of SOD and the content of collagen, while decreasing the content of MDA in the skin of the mice. Additionally, it notably promoted hair growth. Therefore, the extract from bergamot and boxthorn was concluded to play an active role in skin health and the promotion of hair growth.
