TLDR Bee venom acupuncture therapy can promote hair growth and may help treat hair loss.
The study investigated the effects of bee venom acupuncture therapy on hair follicle growth in C57BL/6N mice. It found that a 0.2 ml dose of bee venom acupuncture resulted in more significant hair follicle growth compared to a 0.1 ml dose and a control group. Microscopic analysis showed that treated groups reached more advanced phases of the hair growth cycle. Immunohistochemical observations revealed increased expression of growth factors and receptors, such as fibroblast growth factor and epidermal growth factor, in the 0.2 ml treated group. The study concluded that bee venom acupuncture therapy enhanced the expression of various factors associated with the hair growth cycle, suggesting its potential applicability in treating hair loss.

Bee venom at 0.001% concentration was more effective than 2% minoxidil in promoting hair growth in mice, possibly due to increased growth factors and reduced inflammation. Caution is advised due to potential allergic reactions and the reliance on animal data.
