TLDR Stem cell-enriched fat grafts improve facial hyperpigmentation better than conventional grafts.
The study aimed to compare the long-term effects of conventional adipose tissue grafting (C-FG) and ex-vivo expanded adipose stem cell-enriched adipose tissue grafting (FG-ASCs) for treating facial contour deformities with hyperpigmentation. A total of 80 patients participated, with a mean age of 24.42 years, and 66 were female. The study found that FG-ASCs significantly reduced pigmentation more effectively than C-FG, as indicated by a decrease in integrated color density. Patients treated with FG-ASCs reported higher satisfaction levels compared to those treated with C-FG. The study concluded that ASC-enriched autologous fat grafting was a preferred option for improving facial contour deformities and associated hyperpigmentation.
