TLDR Excimer light effectively treats various skin diseases, including psoriasis, vitiligo, and mycosis fungoides.
The study analyzed the efficacy of monochromatic excimer light in treating various skin diseases in 279 patients. It found that more than 50% of patients with plaque psoriasis and palmoplantar dermatoses achieved complete remission, all patients with mycosis fungoides achieved complete remission, and one-third of vitiligo patients experienced excellent repigmentation. Additionally, three patients with alopecia areata saw hair regrowth. The study also reported improvements in prurigo nodularis, partial remission in localized scleroderma, and complete remission in most patients with genital lichen sclerosus and granuloma annulare. The findings confirmed the effectiveness of monochromatic excimer light for psoriasis, vitiligo, and mycosis fungoides, and suggested new therapeutic responses for other conditions.
