This study investigates the antibacterial activity of compounds derived from Sansevieria trifasciata Prain against Escherichia coli and Streptococcus aureus. The isolated pyridone alkaloid derivative shows significant antibacterial effects, with minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) for E. coli at 1.95 ppm, 3.9 ppm, 15.62 ppm, and 7.81 ppm, and for S. aureus at 1.95 ppm, 1.95 ppm, 15.62 ppm, and 7.81 ppm. Computational analysis reveals strong interactions with key residues in bacterial enzymes, with favorable binding energies compared to ciprofloxacin. These findings suggest potential for developing new antibacterial agents.
