TLDR Taking choline-stabilized orthosilicic acid orally significantly improved hair, skin, and nail health without side effects.
In a study conducted on 39 randomly selected participants, oral choline-stabilized orthosilicic acid (ch-OSA®) was administered over a period of 5 months to assess its effects on hair, skin, and nail health in the Indian population. The study was divided into four groups focusing on alopecia, hair quality, skin health, and nail health, with assessments made at baseline, 2, 3, 5, and 8 months. Results indicated a significant improvement in all 11 parameters related to alopecia and hair quality, with p-values less than 0.001 from baseline to 8 months. Participants also reported improvements in skin wrinkling, hydration, roughness, and dyschromia, as well as nail health. No side effects were reported throughout the study. The conclusion drawn was that oral intake of ch-OSA® significantly benefited hair, skin, and nail health and was well tolerated by the participants.
