TLDR Two people had unusual ring-shaped hair loss due to an autoimmune disorder.
This document reported two cases of annular alopecia areata (AA), an autoimmune disorder causing non-scarring hair loss, typically in round or oval patches. Both cases involved young male patients with annular patterns of hair loss on the scalp, confirmed through clinical and histopathological examinations. Treatment with intralesional triamcinolone acetonide injections led to significant improvement. The report highlighted the unusual annular morphology of AA, which had not been previously documented in English literature, and emphasized that AA can present in various patterns, though treatment responses remain consistent.
