TLDR AMH levels in adolescents with PCOS are not affected by their weight.
In 2020, a study was conducted on 100 adolescents with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) to examine the relationship between serum levels of anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) and body mass index (BMI). The study found no correlation between AMH levels and BMI. However, there were significant correlations between AMH and LH levels, and between AMH and ovarian morphology. AMH levels were higher in those with menstrual irregularity and hyper-androgenism. The study also found a negative correlation between AMH levels and age, and a positive correlation between AMH level and Antral Follicle Count (AFC) and ovarian volume. The study concluded that AMH was related to clinical and biochemical findings of PCOS, but not affected by patients' weight.
