Management of Alopecia by Bloodletting and Certain Ayurveda Medicine: A Case Study

    A 23-year-old male experiencing excessive hair fall, dandruff, and scalp itching was treated using Ayurvedic methods, including Abhyanga with Dhurdhurpatradi Taila, a modified bloodletting technique, and internal Ayurvedic drugs such as Withania somnifera, Asparagus racemosus, Glycyrrhiza glabra, and Smilax china. The treatment also included Kaishor Gugullu. After 5 weekly bloodletting sessions, the patient experienced complete relief from dandruff and itching, a significant reduction in hair fall to less than 20 hairs per day, and the growth of new hair follicles on the forehead. The patient was satisfied with the results of the Ayurvedic approach.
