TLDR Autoimmunity can cause both alopecia areata and idiopathic primary hypophysitis.
The document reported a case of alopecia areata in a patient with idiopathic primary hypophysitis, both of which are autoimmune diseases. The co-occurrence of these conditions was attributed to autoimmunity, a common etiological factor. This was the first documented instance of such an association.
