TLDR ChatGPT 4.0 and Gemini 1.5 Flash are effective for educating patients about androgenetic alopecia, while Deepseek R1 is less reliable.
The study compared the effectiveness of ChatGPT 4.0, Gemini 1.5 Flash, and Deepseek R1 in educating patients about androgenetic alopecia (AGA). ChatGPT 4.0 and Gemini 1.5 Flash answered all 12 patient questions accurately and were rated as satisfactory with minimal corrections, while Deepseek R1 only answered five questions and often provided inaccurate information. Gemini 1.5 Flash enhanced interpretability with visual aids and citations. All models produced responses at a high school reading level, but ChatGPT 4.0 and Gemini 1.5 Flash offered a better user experience. The study concludes that ChatGPT 4.0 and Gemini 1.5 Flash are effective tools for patient education on AGA, whereas Deepseek R1's inaccuracies necessitate careful use.
