TLDR Younger patients may see better results from PRP therapy for hair growth, but age doesn't significantly affect overall outcomes.
This study examined the impact of age on the efficacy of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy in 57 patients with androgenetic alopecia. Results showed no significant differences in hair density and width changes across age groups, although younger patients tended to have greater density gains. Older individuals might need more PRP sessions to achieve results similar to younger patients. Additionally, patients with greater baseline hair width saw smaller improvements, and those receiving more adjunctive therapies experienced better density gains. PRP was well tolerated by all age groups, suggesting age may influence PRP efficacy and should be considered in treatment planning.
