TLDR Lyophilized platelet-rich plasma is beneficial and effective for various medical treatments, including tissue regeneration and hair regrowth.
The review discusses the use of lyophilized platelet-rich plasma (LPRP) in various medical applications, emphasizing its benefits such as consistent growth factor concentrations, cost-effectiveness, and stability. LPRP, derived from PRP, is used in tissue regeneration, wound healing, scar revision, skin rejuvenation, alopecia, and COVID-19 treatment, among others. It is considered safe and effective for dental surgery, gynecological disorders, viral infections, rheumatoid arthritis, and lung injury. The review also notes PRP's effectiveness in lung injury recovery, osteoarthritis, sports injuries, skin disorders, and particularly in stimulating hair regrowth in androgenetic alopecia (AGA), with reported improvements in hair density and thickness. However, it calls for further studies to optimize dosing and confirm efficacy and safety across treatments.
